My pak (Osprey Exos 48), my hiking shoes (Merrell Moab waterproof), my smart wool socks – my bread and water of life for my 5 weeks pilgrimage! My first hike I took I made a rookie mistake walked 3-4 miles with just regular socks and immediately had blisters:)! Meanwhile my pak I’ve had about 4 lessons between the REI and EMS store staff and I’m still not sure what all the straps are LOL (did I mention this was out of my comfort zone:)) On a positive note I’ve had a couple months now of breaking the shoes in but one never knows how the feet will react with 30+ days of walking many miles per day. Oh and I’ve finally discovered there is nothing better in life than smart wool socks:)!
